A Dianping (大众点评) merchant listing for a Malaysian business goes through an official Dianping partner: you supply photos, a menu or service list, SSM registration and the owner's NRIC or passport, and the store is set up and verified (商户通). Listings typically go live 2-4 weeks after materials are complete and also appear on Meituan (美团). Verification is annual, 1-year minimum.

What do I need to prepare to list my restaurant on Dianping?
You need your store information, photos, a menu or service list, and SSM registration plus the owner's NRIC or passport; Dianping may ask for other verification documents. We send a bilingual checklist to work through, and we do the Chinese translation of your menu.
The platform checks too. In a 36Kr interview, Dianping management said that when a merchant offers transactions on the platform, Dianping verifies its real details, such as store name, address, phone number and opening hours, and asks for its menu. Make sure these match the store. The 2-4 weeks count from the day materials are complete; platform verification itself usually takes 3-5 working days.

What is 商户通, and what does a verified listing add?
商户通 is Dianping's official verified merchant account, billed annually. If a user has already created an entry for your store on Dianping, you can claim it through us and then verify it. Once verified, the page shows a verified badge, and you can upload your own photos and edit the store details. A chain needs one 商户通 per outlet. A verified store page also shows signature picks, user reviews and group-buy deals. If a restaurant is chosen for the Must-Eat List (必吃榜) from genuine diner reviews, that shows too; the platform awards it and nobody can secure a place for you.

Will my Dianping listing also appear on Meituan?
Yes. Meituan is Dianping's parent company, and verified merchants also appear on Meituan with the same details, photos and group-buy deals, with no separate setup. Reviews are kept separately on each platform.
Payment happens inside the platform too. Deal redemptions are settled by the platform, so you do not handle RMB payments yourself.
Can a Malaysian business list itself, or does it go through a partner?
Through a partner. A Malaysian business cannot self-register; listing is done through one of Dianping's official partners. MerchantNgin (赢商) is Dianping's official partner in Malaysia and can handle the setup, verification and day-to-day running of your listing.
